Is this a permanent color in the lineup?
2/5/2016 10:14:43 AM EDT
[#1]
Nobody knows for sure.  I would treat it as if it were not permanent based on past things that Glock has discontinued.    Glock had OD colored Glocks that were discontinued, then brought back years later for a special run.    The RTF2 frame was a standard offering and then was discontinued.

Once sales slow down on that color, I am sure there will be a new color that everyone wants, and Glock will switch to that.

It's only available thru one distributor, I'd guess they had to purchase a certain number just to get Glock to run a color, once that production run ends.... who knows if there will be continued interest.  FDE sold out fairly quickly, a second run was performed before gunswith FDE slide were released.

Really hard to say, if you want one I'd grab it sooner than later.... just saying.

I don't see the Battlefield green ones coming back.   They're slow sellers. FDE and gray are popular colors.  Green died with the First Gulf War.

You can't even find them in my area, and most people are asking about them.

Grey and FDE still are selling well.

I have heard that the BFG Glocks are not a distributor item. They are factory Glocks available to anybody through Glock. A couple of LGS have confirmed this, as well, saying they get them through normal channels and there is no Lipsey's (like the grey) type involved.

BTW, they sell like hotcakes around here. Most popular off-color Glock by far.

I think you are wrong, IIRC Amchar was the exclusive distributor.

Glock had repeatedly stated in the past that they would not produce colored firearms unless a distributor could meet a certain level order.

Glockmeister told me it takes 10,000 units for Glock to do a custom run.

Then how come the FDE Vickers were 2500 each G19/17? Not sure how many of the current grey???

Probably more like 10K per model minimum, with a 100K order being the price of admission.  10K would be peanuts to Glock.

Go figure, FDE is the most common in stores..... that is if they have anything other than black.  I've only seen a couple of green in LGS, sadly they are always models I'm not interested in.  Grey was around for a bit, but they seem to be in short supply also.

In 2012 I couldn't find an FDE G19 or G17 in the state, local dealers had a difficult time getting them (or so it appeared).  On a trip to MT I noticed they had a 50-50 split of them on the wall.  The store I walked into was large, they had (6) Black and FDE in each model.  I've purchased most of my colored Glocks from out of state.

Not sure what the deal is with LGS, some act like they could care less, and surely won't go out of there way to track them down.

I went to three different local gun stores last weekend and they each had several BG Glocks.  I actually like them, but I've got enough Glocks.  For now.

They are an Amchar exclusive color. Just like the gray and FDE are exclusive to Lipseys.

Because they wind up being slow sellers if they stay in production for very long.  The 'gotta have the newest stuff' crowd will snap up the first ones, then they lag.

Back when they made OD green ones, they sat on the shelves forever and brought significantly less than the black ones on the used market.

Looks like Mexico...........nothing this dude is saying is matching up with anything Ive seen. Almost every single OD green glock I see on the used market goes for a premium vs the same model in black

I'm talking about back when Gen 3 Glocks were either black or OD, before they discontinued them the first time.   They were slow sellers.

Y'all don't remember the big online gun stores blowin' 'em out cheap when Glock announced they were discontinued?

I'm down here in Texas.   Forgot to change my location when I got back.
