Well, I visited the "Play Pen" this morning. Take a look at this post and tell me what your take is on this. www.glocktalk.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=371647 My take is that if someone buys something from me, and isn't happy for any reason, and it is within a reasonable ammount of time, I will refund their money less shipping cost PERIOD. I think having a reputation as a stand up guy is far more important that taking someones money and running, and telling them to pound sand when they email you that they aren't happy. What disturbs me is how a lot of people over there think the seller should jsut tell the customer "your SOL". I cant believe the stuff I have read over there by those immature little pricks, this one I just couldn't not comment on. |

My point wasn't just about refunding the money, but how all those idiots attack the buyer, belittle him and judge him on GT. I believe if ANY of you bought that upper and it had a problem and it wasn't noticed until you got around to shooting it 3 weeks later, you'd all be squealing like pigs, dont fool yourselves. |
Don't get me wrong, I agree with you in that that the idiots piled on (I thought that was standard behavior over there) and I agree with you in that after 3-4 weeks if I took it to the range and it wasn't satisfactory I'd be pissed but... As a buyer I wouldn't expect the seller to refund my money and as a seller I would feel no obligation to refund the money. That doesn't mean that I wouldn't try to work it out peacefully because I would but I've bought and sold enough here (+55 on the feedback forum) to know when something might be questionable. If something doesn't look right from the start I'd immediately dig deeper. That thread also reaffirms why I only do business with arfcom dealers and respected members. |
So when is the cutoff for "reasonable amount of time?" To me it's a week. Anything after that is too long. I have known too many dirtbags that would buy something from a local retailer, use it, then return it either for $$$ or a new one. |
| If I bought something used, off of the internet, from a private seller and did not test fire it until 3 weeks after I bought it and had a problem, it would not even enter my mind to ask the guy for a refund let alone expect him to pay for the return shipping. If I bought something from a private seller I would try it out the day I received it and if I noticed a problem with it then I would hope (not expect) the seller to make it right. After 3 weeks how does the seller know you only fired the gun once, how does he know the buyer can actually shoot, the gun could have been put through hell and look like it did when it was sold, so how would the seller know it was only shoot once. I would not expect my money back and neither should that guy. Actually, from the way you talk about it it sounds like you might be the buyer. |
That is only how your feeble mind perceives it. Now that we all know what I do here, what do you do here besides your 39 lame posts which lack in both substance and intelligence? |
Then could you please depart. We really could use one less jackass around here. |

Yeah, it really sounds like you have a life outside the box.

IMO, the buyer is SOL due to the fact that he waited 3 weeks to try out the G22 upper. I've sold a few items over the Internet including complete firearms and uppers. I give the standard 3 day inspection period. After that, good luck with your purchase. The seller is correct in not refunding the money due to the time period. He is under no legal obligation to do so. From what was written, the sale was made in good faith. Back to Gluck with the upper would be the solution for the buyer. The seller however should have not started a thread on GT and got all the "Kool Aid" drinkers over there involved even if some have made good points. |
he's heeeere
