Hey all, long story short, Im talking with a guy selling a Glock 19 but he doesnt know the Gen of it - Ive tried describing the rails and grip, but he' kind of clueless.  He doesnt have access to a digital camera, either.  He knows its a Glock 19 (thankfully), has 2 15 round mags and says the Serial Number is G I 13XXX.  Is this a Gen II or Gen III ?  Any help is appreciated.

Thanks.

Thanks, saw that list and its series isnt on there.  The guy shot me another email, and says along with G I 13XXX it has these markings:  "GVL XXX"

Send him a link to this page and ask him which frame does his G19 look like.  Sounds like he may have a Gen2 with a Gen3 frame.  Should be the same number the slide, barrel and frame unless something was replaced.  I think all Gen2 G19 have the same serial number on the frame with US after the number.  The new Glocks don't have US after the number.

Thanks, I'll try that.

Sweet Mother of God, he's saying pics arent displaying on his PC!

By looking at the list, I think the "GVLxxx" is a 3rd Gen.  If those (GVLxxx) are the serial number, what the hell is G I 13xxx on the pistol for ?

Sorry for the dumb questions, Ive never owned a Glock, and at the rate this is going, wont be able to keep my sanity long enough to buy this one!

verbally ask him if it is stippled on the entire grip (1st gen), stippled with front and rear checkering with no finger grooves (2nd gen), or stippled with front and rear checkering with finger grooves and a tactical light rail (3rd gen)

Thanks, guys, was finally able to verify that he's selling a Gen 3.
