A couple weeks ago, I brought home my used G29SF. I found it at a local shop for a great price. I was looking forward to shooting it, possibly tomorrow, and while looking it over noticed that it is very different from my two other Glocks (22 and 27) in that it appears that the guide rod is not flush with the front of the slide and that the rear of the slide is behind, not flush with, the rear extent of the slide rails. I stripped the pistol, made sure that the guide was placed correctly (which it appears to be) and nothing seems to change. Other than having shot somebody's 21 once, this is my first experience off of the conventional 9/40 Glock frame, hence my interest on making sure that there isn't a possible problem before I (attempt) to shoot this pistol.

Photos are about useless.
Does the gun go all the way into battery, can't tell from the photos. Might just be a bad GSA, but can't tell as any of the photos that I'd really like to see are blurry, and of to low quality, would need higher resolution. Have you thought about bring it to the place you purchased it from? ~g |

Quoted:
Minuscule variation no biggie if it runs ignore it Based on replies elsewhere, and that it seemed that the slide is in battery and was in the correct place for the trigger to work, I decided to give it a try. I Fired 75 rounds. The gun seems to shoot nice. Brass doesn't reflect any evidence of problems. I'm going to go with it being a manufacturing variation/ fit and finish issue. |
