Just compared my Gen2 G19 to my Gen3 G17 on where the trigger is after a dry fire no reset. G17 trigger closer the frame and the G19 is not. With my finger it will move to the same position. the G19 trigger seems to be working normally except for that. I can hear the striker move around so it just appears to be a wear issue the trigger piece given the age?

First pic is trigger dry fired and second is after reset.

So should I order a replacement part or not?

Does it operate correctly when you shoot it? Is it an AIM trade in with the NY spring?

It is one from AIM with NY trigger in it. Just have done dry firing only, trigger appears to be working normally.

I am not overly worried about it I know it is not correct, just trying to determine if I should order a part to replace or not. Got another one coming from Aim which could make me order two in case it is the same thing going on.

Anybody know if the NY spring could cause this? Got two normal springs on order with my 2nd G19 I ordered from Aim.

I'm new to Glocks so I'm not sure I'm understanding your concern.

I bought one of the AIM gen 2 G19s. I now have a standard spring in mine and the trigger stays way back after dry fire like in your first picture. It did the same with the NY2 trigger in it. It resets just fine on cycling the slide. The guns fires every time I pull the trigger with ammo in it.

Okay, mine is further back and more verticals like your 17. The group shot almost looks like the 19's trigger has reset.

It does but once I charge the slide in moves forward more. To me it seems the NY2 trigger spring lost tension because it is on the trigger bar and I have not cleaned out firing pin channel but it moves freely like normal after pulling the trigger.

Normal with NY 1 and 2 springs.  They apply tension upwards which pushes trigger bar forward.  Non-issue...if you don't like it, remove NY spring and install coil spring (oem regular).

Until you fire it live you won't ever know. There may be variations from gun to gun based on manufacturing tolerance alone. Shoot it if it works you are set.

Well I guess I can wait till I receive my other Gen2 G19 from AIM which I included the factory springs in the order to install those to see if it resolves it.
