How much insurance do you guys typically add on when shipping? I'm going to send two g19 slides. Thanks.

Has anyone gotten a new RSA when sending in a stripped slide?
|
|
|
Yes, very pleased. Took 10 days including shipping both ways. Shipped priority mail, no insurance.

It was right at a week for them to add NS to my G23's slide, round trip. I just put the slide in a small flat-rate box with a USPS MO for $57 and dropped it in the mail slot. I'm thinking of sending my G17 and 19 slides off soon.

Keep in mind you get $50 worth automatically with Priority Mail. |

A lot of faith in the USPS around here.
I use Fed Ex just because I've yet to lose anything from them. |

G43 slide shipped to Glock on 10/26 and returned today, 11/5.
Now I can put the Shield back in the safe. |

My 42 slide came back today. Couple weird things. Firing pin spacer sleeve is white. Plus they put a G43 slide cover plate on it. Oops!

It's pricey but 100% worth it if you own more than one or two glocks. Lend it out and you'll make friends fast |

I think im going to do this with 3 of my glocks. Hard deal to pass up.

Sent my slide to Glock USPS Priority Mail on Monday Oct 26th, got it back FedEX Ground Thursday Nov 5th. They updated the firing pin assembly and extractor as well, it was a Gen 3 23 bought in 2000. Can't beat it for $57 plus shipping cost to Glock.

Are you guys all stripping the slide down before sending?
|
|
|
I didn't bother to strip mine. Others have.

I had several slides to do.....so i opted to just buy the sights and a mgw sight tool. I have 8 or 9 glocks anyways......so now i can more easily mess with sights.

It is a good deal. If you want NS, do it.
Personally, I really do like the stock non-night sights. |

I sent in four stripped slides thanks to this thread. About a two week turn around - door to door. All new guts provided. Glock even included a factory pistol case. I need another one of those like a hole in the head, but it was a nice touch. Highly recommend!

I sent in two slides for sights on 10/25/2015 a gen2 and a gen4. They charged me on 11/03/2015, I received a receipt in the mail on 11/10/2015 and the slides arrived on 11/11/2015 (after I got back from the range go figure).
Neither slide was stripped when sent but all parts were inspected and replaced. They included an itemized invoice in the box with the slides, the Gen 2 was totally rebuilt including a new RSA. The gen 4 got new extractor parts and new firing pin parts. |

Sent my slide on Saturday (11/7/15)

I just mine back today, right at 2 weeks round trip.
Time to put back all of the original parts and put the others in the spares kit. I'm thinking I'll send off the other 3 slides for the same treatment Thanks to the OP for mentioning this deal. |

I sent in two model 19 slides on Saturday.
I didn't know about stripping the slide until I read this thread. At first I wasn't going to do it then thought what the heck it's free stuff and takes only two minutes to do. The factory plastic sights are shit. The ones on my two 19s are starting to flake and chip, and one of them does nothing but sit in the safe. It was time to upgrade. I've been carrying my big-ass Beretta 92fs in the meantime. |

Gen 2 G19 stripped slide sent: 18/ Nov.
Received: 20 / Nov Shipped: 01 / Dec Returned: 07 / Dec Slide returned completely rebuilt with LCI extractor. I pulled the new parts and put the old parts back in , saved the rest for spares |
|
|
This seems like a no-brainer. Especially if I strip down the slide.
Questions for you guys getting the night sights. Do most of you use them for a carry gun, or would you prefer something with a blacked out rear and a bright front sight for your carry? |
|
|
Question for the guys who are getting new RSA. Are you sending them with or without barrels?
Thanks |
|
|
Strip the slide and send just it.

I like a black rear with a bright front on the range, but in real life, three dot tritium works much better for me if I don't have a light. With an X300 on the gun the night sights are not necessary at all. |
