Well I took the plunge , gota  Glock 19 on order ...anything I should know? recently converted from the dreadfull world of 1911's . that were just too much of a pain to fiddle with , I enjoy shooting not worrying about JHP and dirty feed ramps

Congratulations, plastic is the way to go.
A trick on glocks, you can squeeze the trigger all the way and fire a around, hold the finger squeezed, then let it slide a little until you hear the click noise, then pull back the trigger again to fire the subsequent round.  This is by far the best method for accuracy.

And there is no manual safety...be careful.

Oh and when you get the glock, the coppery stuff inside the slide is there to kinda polish your gun for first 1-2k of ammo.

No cleaning is necessary, just take her out and give her a shot.

Congratulations bro!

The G19 is awesome and it will serve you well.  Just be sure and post pictures when you finally get it.

Pick up a few more 15 round magazines for it, a case (or three) of ammo and have at it.  Not much is needed except an occasional cleaning.  My G19 have 4000+ through it and never needed anything except CLP and more ammo.

 Congrats, It's a wise decision! Cleaned or uncleaned,used or abused it doesn't matter it will always be there ready to go whenever you are! Don't forget to show us those pics!!
