I have had a G17 for several years, shoot it great, love everything about it. How much more accuracy would I get from the G34?

Are there models of the 34 that don't have the slide cutout?

Not much the accuracy of a pistol is weighed more on the shooter than the pistol I can shoot my 34 the same as the 17&19 but is have same trigger confit and sight config across the board.

No the 34 has that to lighten the slide and the 17L has the cutout also.

My 34 is my favorite

Side by side on a range you won't see any difference in accuracy. The 34 shines in competition shooting where the longer sight radius makes lets you get away with a sloppy sight picture when shooting fast. The cutout on the slide is to reduce the weight of the slide so that it would still cycle light loads for shooting competitions. Lone Wolf makes different slides for Glocks, so you might look there for ideas. Since the 34 and 17 use the same frame you could get something from them and swap it out on the frame of your 17.

If you're like me and a few others, you may not like the 34 as much as what you have now.

I tried a 34 twice, gave each one the better part of a season and never warmed up to 'em at all.

Indeed. One of my favorite handguns.

Don't string me up by a lamppost, but I kinda want to try out an M&P Pro just to see how they stack up against each other.

Own both. Love both.

Buy it, you will really really enjoy shooting it.

Did you start disliking the slide cutout after watching nutnfancy's video?

Here's the flip side of that coin.

Enjoy.

The action of the 34 is a bit slower than the 17.  Other than that they're about the saame

I've had multiples of each.

I find the 17 to be just as shootable and accurate as the 34 - and a more versatile offering as you can carry it easier.

That said I sold my 34 and bought a CZ SP-01.

Do you have a long torso?  With my short torso drawing a 34 from a strong side zero cant/zero drop hoster is a bitch. The grips in my armpit by the time the muzzle clears the holster.

Some points...

I have owned the 17L twice...glad I sold it BOTH TIMES...I forgot how much I hated it and bought another on a whim due to a great price...

YOU WILL NOT PRY MY 34 FROM MY COLD DEAD HANDS...I will come back alive and shoot you to slide lock...thats how much I love my 34...

Load for Load my 34 is more accurate than my 17 or 19, maybe a function of higher  velocity, or shooter confidence...both the 17 and the 34 are RMR'd with RMR01 3.25moa dot so removing the iron sights and sight radius from the equation they should be the same according to some posts but they are decidedly not...

The cutout as I understand it is to make the 34 slide weigh the same as the 17 slide so that they use the same spring and shoot identical loads the same.

You could just find a used 34 slide and swap them onto your 17 frame...

I am 5'6" and 190, I AIWB carry the 34/17/19 in a modded Dale Fricke Seraphim and the 26 in a shall not be mentioned holster...the 34 is only uncomfortable sitting and driving...its only short coming...
