| I'm going to be doing an NRA police competition this year and was looking to modify the trigger on my G19. This is mostly for fun, but the team I'm running with all have XDs with competition sights. I have a glock 19 with with trijicon HDs, an extended slide release, a 3.5 connector, and a NY1 trigger spring. I like this setup for carry as the trigger is crisper with a better reset IMO. After shooting the XD right after I feel as though I'm at a disadvantage however. I've owned XDs before and don't really care for them much, but in this regard I do shoot better with them. I don't want to buy another pistol just for giggles. The rules state the trigger weight must be 3.5lbs or higher, and no modification may render the pistol less safe. Given that, what would you guys run? I'm just picking your brains, I'm a decent shot, but I have a smaller sight radius and a heavier trigger than most people as it stands, so I'm just looking to be a little more competitive with what I have. I know the shooter makes the gun and what not, but a more competition orientated trigger won't hurt. Ideas? |

also I don't know if you want to change sights but ameriglo Dofoor(?) sights can be had for $40 I was thinking about it, but the gun is perfect for carry as is, I'd prefer not to swap the sights out for one day of competition. I'm pretty fast with an AR, decent with a shotgun, and OK with the handgun, it's more for fun than anything... so $10 worth of trigger parts is more doable than new sights. |
