I just received a couple trigger bars from Brownells.  I had ordered a Gen 3 as well as a Gen 4.  As far as I can tell they both look identical.  The Gen4 does not have the added bump on it.  Did I get a Gen 3 trigger bar that was packaged wrong, or did Glock change the design?  Is there anything wrong with putting a Gen 3 bar in a Gen 4?

I replaced my Gen 4's with Gen 3's.
Never seen a Gen 4 that didn't have the bump, but who knows with Glock.

Thanks.  I probably won't worry about it.  I wanted the Gen 4 for a spare, but if the Gen 3 works then I guess I don't need it.  The part number on the bag for the Gen 4 bar is correct, but I'm 99% sure it's a Gen 3. Unless they did away with the bump.

Not that I'm aware of. Putting a gen3 trigger in a gen4 gun is one of the best things you can do to improve the trigger pull.

This, gen4 guns all have the bump on them or that's what I was told in the armorers class last week. But what do they know.

Are we talking full size vs compact?  Smooth trigger vs serrated?  I ordered in a "smooth" trigger for my g19.4 - much better.  No bump.

No we are talking about on the trigger bar, the part where it rides up to contact the firing pin block and disengage it.

Dremel the bump off waalaa Gen 3 trigger bar or ask for a refund.

I have to say I am using the Gen4 trigger bar in my G19.4 I replaced the serrated trigger with a G17 smooth.  I had originally robbed a Gen3 till I got the new.  I tested the theory that the Gen3 was better than the Gen4 and I found little to no difference with the edge going to the 4 with the bump.  Neither were heavily polished but the 4 came in just barely lighter on my gauge and I say barely because the difference between was less than a 10th of a pound.  I know my sample size is small but I think this whole gen3 vs 4 trigger bar is way over stated.  I think what most are experiencing is variations between different bars not that one is better than another.

I've used both, and once they are both polished I can't tell a difference so I use the Gen 4 bar just because they are Gen 4 Glocks.

Anyone know why the Gen 4 guns have the bump?

It actually started on gen3 with the G37/38/39
