I was watching a Wilson combat video about extractor testing. What they do is fire a few rounds and remove the magazine and fire another. The extractor should have enough tension on the case that it ejects fine w/o a magazine.

I was at the range today and tried this with my Glock, The case either gets jammed up or come out the magazine well. Now while the gun has always worked. The ejection is the most anemic of any handgun I've ever had. The brass barely trickles out. Even with +p and NATO ammunition.

Is there an enhanced power extractor spring or a better extractor to add to help ejection ?

Meh.  That's just how some Glocks are.  From what I've seen, the ones with weak ejection, eventually show regular malfunctions.  But don't be totally discouraged, a Glock relies on the magazine to aid in ejection.  A properly built 1911 does not.

The Apex extractor will either help, do nothing, or make it worse.  You can try the White Sound HRED along with the Apex, by itself, or with an older Glock 90 degree extractor, and a Glock 30274 ejector can be thrown into the mix.   Any random combination of all that shit may fix it.  Apex will also machine your slide, you can add that too.

I've been doing additional research. Have you guys ever tried the Apex extractor ?

This is for a controlled feed 1911, not a Glock.  I think all Glocks will stovepipe or drop fired cases down the magwell when fired without a mag inserted, doesn't mean there's anything wrong with it.

My gen3 G19 had 2 failures to eject in the first 600 rounds and the ejection was inconsistent.  Sometimes it would be powerful ejection to the 4 o'clock, sometimes it would weakly go forward, sometimes it would hit my arms, other times it would barely dribble out of the gun.  I followed Apex's advice and got an Apex extractor/spring along with the other things they recommended (30274 ejector and I believe a non-LCI spring insert, can't remember exactly) and my ejection has been strong and consistent ever since with no failures.  Also, the gun will eject spent cases with the mag out, whereas my second gen 3 G19 (older gen 3 with better ejection) will consistently drop spent cases out the mag well or simply stovepipe.

It's disappointing to have to buy expensive aftermarket parts to get a gun to function properly, but that's the risk you take with buying recent manufacture Glocks.  It's disappointing, because I really like everything else about them.

I've always liked to tinker with all my guns and I knew when I got into Glock pistols I would be farting around with something but not the extractor.  In any case for me to spend the kind of money on a combat pistol is a bit crazy but what I get in return is good enough for me in regards to accuracy and reliability.
