Very concealable stock connector sucks and super heavy. Very accurate when you manage the crap trigger. Want a trigger with no serrations. Want extended stick 15 round or so mags from Glock. Disappears in a IWB holster
5/29/2015 4:23:45 PM EDT
[#1]
Lol. You bought a single stack 9mm with a 6 rnd capacity and want a 15 round extended mag?
5/29/2015 4:29:23 PM EDT
[#2]
I have a G43 ordered and am looking forward to trying it out, but if it is too big to serve as a pocket-gun it won't have any real place to fit in among my practical/carry guns.  Much like the G26, if I am going to carry it in a holster/on a belt then I'd rather carry one of my G19s instead for very little more effort.  YMMV.

5/29/2015 4:54:45 PM EDT
[#3]
Single stack is for concealablility. Once a gunfight begins your backup stick in your jacket is the reload mag! Once in a gunfight concealablility no longer matters and maximum firepower ie extra rounds does.

I wouldn't really care for an extended 15 round mag for this pistol.

If they come out with an extended 10 round mag for this pistol that extends past the grip like the 10 rounders for 1911s, I'd be all over those.

I'll grab extended mags when they're available but I like it so far.

Got mine last week. Still shooting a little to the left, but I absolutely love it. Picked up a new Gen4 Glock 19 - today. I've come back to the darkside.

Oh just modded my trigger bar for my 43. I hate I mean hate the serrated trigger they must have for import so I sacrificed a extra Glock 17 gen 4 trigger bar and knocked the pin out with a punch and put the smooth trigger bar on the 43. I put the pin back through the original hole and attached the smooth faced trigger to in. I then smoothed out the exit hole I made by knocking the pin out by pushing the plastic back in the hole. I then put a drop of super glue in the exit hole and now look. Put a scratch on the entry side and could have been a little neater but it feels better already and works great. I pounded the pin out on a price of particle board.

After you expend that six round mag your gonna want a 15-20 stick of ammo if the threat isn't eliminated.

Nice job on that trigger swap! I don't mind the serrations but that looks good.

It is reportedly not hard to drill the blind side of the trigger to drive the pin out and avoid damaging the trigger. I may be doing this mod soon. The super glue is a good idea.

Just knock the pin out with the hammer and punch. It's easy! Same punch as a AR15 gas tube roll pin.

I finger fucked the hell out of one again today at the LGS. I don't have any Glocks, but find myself lusting after the 43. Was carrying my Shield and compared it dimensionally. They are so close. Shield a little shorter slide and the 43 a little shorter grip. Even would work with the IWB I use for the Shield (which was originally for an XDS). I just like how the Glock feels.

LGS guy said he likes how it feels, too, but some people are having probs with mags. Any truth behind that?

EDIT: Apparently, truth. Mags catching on the mag release upon insertion if not perfectly straight. Simple fix to bevel the mag release I found.

I haven't had any issues with the stock mag release but I ordered a Vickers extended for the 43. Also the ghost connector.

I called Glock about the magazine hanging up and they are sending me a replacement magazine release. I'm not sure if the design is actually different or if they are sending me a replacement of the exact same spec (which would be kind of dumb). I'll post pics when it arrives.

I ordered the Vickers slide release. I dropped the edge connector in and a Galloway firing pin safety spring. Makes a world of difference to the feel of the trigger.

I received mine a couple weeks ago.  Got a good deal on it so I grabbed it.  As someone who has carried and shot a Kahr for over 15 years, I thought I might drink some koolaid.

Although I am not much of a trigger snob, the G43 trigger leaves a lot to be desired.  It is manageable at speed but slow fire is difficult, here is hoping that it will smooth out with time.

Other than that, it seems to be a nice shooter.  Break-in was uneventful as myself and three other people, including my wife, put 50 rounds through it with zero malfunctions so far.

Love the Ghost edge such an improvement in trigger weight says 42 but works for 43 too.

This Galco leather IWB for G26/27 works good too

I just confirmed with the owner of Ghost Inc. that the 43 trigger bar is longer than the 42 and they are not interchangeable.

I'm talking about taking a 42 trigger bar and putting it on a G43. Taking a standard Glock 17 trigger bar knocking out the pin on the trigger. Removing it from the 17 bar putting on the G43 trigger bar by removing the serrated trigger by knocking the pin out and tossing the original serrated target trigger.

I put one in an SR9 when that model came out and it made my gun worse.
I ended up polishing the factory bar  with a buffing wheel and knife sharpening stone and it has been awesome ever since.
I have been wary of ghost connectors ever since.

OP,  is the trigger on the 43 the same as other clocks?
I want a flat trigger face like the one that you sanded down.
I really hate that V-shaped trigger face on a factory Glock.

I never sanded down the original serrated target trigger face. I replaced it a Glock 17 trigger face. Yes trigger face is exactly the same as on the Glock 17 trigger  but the bar is different. I ended up doing more work on mine filling the exit hole then used a pumice foot scrubber to smooth it out. Used a tooth pick to put superglue in the exit side hole with a toothpick and while Pushing in the rough plastic edges around the rough exit hole where I knocked the pin through the plastic trigger face with a small flathead screwdriver. I then let it dry and wel sanded with the pumice scrubber and it's smooth and hardly noticable. Looks factory now. Want to use something soft like phone book or partical board in order to retain the pin. I then wet sanded it then rinsed the pumice dust off in water. I didn't sand the face down I used a Glock 17 smooth trigger face and put it on the G43 trigger bar. Also people having issues with the edge trigger try putting a drop of CLP where the connecter meets the trigger bar. Then rack and pull the trigger a few times.

My did nothing until I polished the back of the cruciform, same on G42 and G17. Looks like most of the friction is there

I did bend my connector in slightly.
You just have to make sure it still operates correctly.
And I too polish the whole trigger bar, firing pin safety.

Oliver at Ghost told me there is supposed to be more of an outward bend to the G42 and 43 connectors. But I found bending mine in towards the trigger housing improved the pull.

Man the stock trigger is shit I can't believe Glock would release such a crappy one caused me to pull shots and all my hits were lower in the same area. Just pulling the 10 ton stock trigger.

Called Smyrna and they will only sell complete trigger bars so only way to get a smooth trigger face that is factory is to do the mod I showed. Also suggested they make. A USA made G43 smoothed faced trigger bar in GA. Said he would pass it on.

I picked up my 43 yesterday.  Cleaned it really well this morning and took it to the range.

Mine has the night sights on it.  No issue with the magazine seating, and the trigger was crisp and smooth.  Shot well.

On 5/28 I did put on back-order a couple of Taran Tactical Innovations +2 magazine extensions.  Reviews I saw indicate that they work well.  Of course, they are out of stock.
