I have a gen 3 glock 21, purchased in end of 1999 or early 2000, it has about 4,000 rounds thru it but is not that beat up, never carried , and always cleaned.
I'm finding I would much rather the gen 4 mag release. If i'm able to find someone that will swap me guns for a gen 4 g21 how much money should i add on top of the trade to make the deal fair? I'm not sure what the relative value of each should be. thank you for your time. |
| You can just do the mag release mod and keep the gun. I've seen many people take a gen 4 mag release, which you can buy online for a few bucks, and mod the gun to accept it. It does take some simple skills in using a wood burner and cutting plastic but it's not really that hard to do. There should be some people along soon to show you how to do it. |

Just going from what I see on the Fbook swap pages it's hard to find someone to trade a Gen 4 for a Gen 3. I would try to just sell it out right for $450-$465 and buy a new or used Gen 4. Quoted:

I thought about doing this..but the few i've seen guys on youtube that needed to stipple to cover up there work I figured if i can just upgrade for 100$ or so then I get the feature i want, with out it looking like a hack (me) got ahold of it. that said, professionally i'm a machinist, i run a 7 million dollar cell system making things that if fail airplanes crash...but i don't know that i trust my hand with a wood burning iron. with all of this said, thank you for your opinions and help it is appreciated. |
