Will the Glock M.O.S. set the standard for mounting red dots on Glocks?
I don't understand releasing this on a 34 platform, as I thought the main purpose of this slide length is increased sight radius, which would be unnecessary with an optic. I would think any additional velocity advantage would be negligible over a 17. Assuming that there are mounts and spacers available for the RMR, Deltapoint, and other... would M.O.S. be preferable, for flexibility, to the traditional custom mill job for one optic? I wonder if the specialty shops like ATEI or L&M will be able to mill the Glock M.O.S. into Gen 3's or 17's or 19's? Or even convert a mill job from RMR only to the M.O.S.? Any thoughts? 01/13/15 Update - I saw pictures of the new M.O.S. model 35 HERE |

I would think any additional velocity advantage would be negligible over a 17. Competition 34 is one of the most widely used. Other exist but I see more Glocks 34/35/19/23's than any other. (excluding 1911) The 17 with the MOS cut will probably be coming just Glock goes through production runs and they make certain models at certain times so 17 will probably come next or later after say the 37. Assuming that there are mounts and spacers available for the RMR, Deltapoint, and other... would M.O.S. be preferable, for flexibility, to the traditional custom mill job for one optic? No one has experience with MOS cannot be answered. I wonder if the specialty shops like ATEI or L&M will be able to mill the Glock M.O.S. into Gen 3's or 17's or 19's? Updated OP with link to pics Looks like a regular rear sight placement to me... or is it slightly pushed back? It definitely looks like the rear sight is setback farther. If you compare the slide serrations to other glocks, the rear sight is usually in between the last serration. The MOS looks to have the rear sight behind the last serration. Might be an issue for those who like certain sights, that lay flush with the rear of the slide. Those sites may overhang on the MOS. |

But once they release it I am sure sight makers will make sights for this model specifically. |
