| Anybody using them on their Glocks? I've been thinking about putting a set of AmeriGlo Ghost rings on my G21. On one hand it sounds like a good idea but I'm wondering whether it's slow to aim, and just a bad idea on a pistol. Any input would be greatly appreciated. |
| I installed a set of Ameriglo Ghost Rings on a friend's G26, also had a set on my G30. Currently have the Half-Ghost on my G30. Ghost Rings are faster than "conventional" sights, just not as precise. The front sight will also be just a tad shorter than the Empire State Building, reducing your holster choices. |

IMO they are crap. Any advantage you pick up in speed is lost in accuracy. You would be better off with the Ashley XS or Express Dot as they were called at one time. Tried one on my 23 and it was fast and accurate for close range. Shot groups spread drastically as the range increased. It really depends on what you are shooting at, and at what ranges. I personally like the tritium three dot sights as they are most common and I do not need to "learn" a new sight. A trick that I learned a few years ago and have been using ever since is to "dull down" the rear dots. Take a fine black marker and starting at the outermost edge of the circular dot, start darkening it in making it gradually smaller. Test in the light and in the dark and tweak it more if needed. What you end up with is a dull set of dots in the rear and a larger, brighter (in appearance) front sight. This allows for speed and accuracy as well. Oh, yeah you remove the ink with rubbing alcohol and a Q-Tip. Cheap, works great and it removes easily. |
