Was at Cabelas yesterday and looked at the g19 gen4. Really liked it.
Came home and did a little research on it and the gen3. From what I gather it's a personal preference choice. What do you guys think?

I only have gen3s. A g27 and g22. Never a problem from either. I read about some issues with the gen4 at some point but cant imagine they werent fixed quickly. My hands fit the standard grip but the additional choices are nice with the gen4.

Either one is fine.

I prefer Gen4 for the interchangeable backstraps and more aggressive grip texture.

I have both and like them. My wife likes the GEN 4 more for its aggressive grips but I seem to shoot the GEN 3 more accurately and not really sure why as the only major differences between the two is the robust spring and the texture. It's personal preference at the end of the day and you can't go wrong with either.

The Gen 4 grip texture is awesome when you get wet or sweaty hands because it sticks like glue. Otherwise it really is a toss up. The 19 is the best do it all general purpose 9mm ever made and you can't go wrong either way.

Try the medium backstrap on the Gen 4. Makes the grip more like the Gen 3 and see how you do.

Gen 4 for the better grip texture, better mag release, and slightly narrower grips.
