I am looking for a conversion for my Glock 17. What units are the most reliable?

After returning 2 LW frames I can tell you first hand they're garbage. |

I picked mine up off GB, and didn't look back. |
| I like my Tactical Solutions kit. I had an Advantage Arms kit but didn't like how it was put together. The TacSol kit is much easier to take apart and clean, and can come with a threaded barrel ready for a suppressor. The AA kit barrel is too thin so even when you spend the extra $95 for a threaded barrel you have to use an adapter. Both kits can be ammo finicky. My TacSol won't run worth a damn on anything made by Winchester but is a sewing machine with Remington Thunderbolts. My AA kit refused to work 100% with bare lead bullets but ran fine with anything that was plated/coated. |
| I found a like new Glock 17 frame on GB for a very good price which I bought and mated to my AA Glock 17/22/31 target Kit (adjustable sight). I don't even know how many tens of thousand 22's that kit has digested. I have taught numerous people to shoot with that pistol and I rarely go shooting that it doesn't go along. |

The lightweight AA kit makes it feel like a toy which I didn't like. I don't have enough rounds through my TacSol kit to comment on reliability yet, but it's a lot more accurate than the AA kit that I used to have. |

Not cheap but worth the cost for their intended purpose. If you just want a 22 pistol buy a Ruger Mk*. If you want to mimic your carry/duty/match firearm for proficiency sake, conversion kits make sense. Quoted:
Unless conversion kits dropped in proce dont they cost the same as a new gun? |
