| Hi all, I recently bought an Ameriglo CAP rear sight for my gen4 G19. The seller told me he was "pretty sure" it was .272 height. It's noticeably taller than the stock rear sight. My question is which front sight height would match this rear sight (assuming it is .272)? Thanks for your help guys. |

Should be a front sight to match but you can mix and match sight heights depending on how it shoots say low at 25 or high at 7 etc. I buy mine in sets personally but sights are all personal prefrence and oriented toward task. |

This is true. I'm really just looking for the stock equivalent for this rear sight, if that makes sense. It's taller than the stock rear, so if I get a front that's has the same difference in height than I should be good, right? I would think. I know Dawson says that if you like the POI of your stock sights then you should go with a .020 difference between the front and rear. At least with 9 and 40. A larger gap between front and rear would raise POI, lower gap would lower POI. TTI sells their sights with a .010 difference between the front and rear and they advertise it as a point of aim = point of impact, but I prefer a 6'oclock hold like the stock sights offer. |

.256 is the stock rear height iirc. Which matches up with the .165 front. .272 is ameriglo's next size up (10mm/.45) iirc. Maybe try a .180 - .220 range front sight Ok, so according to this I have the wider Glock's size sight. That makes sense. Thanks a lot, this was very helpful. |
| Use the front sight calculator here to figure out what height front sight you need based on how far you're off with the new rear sight and your stock front sight. |
