So I see Ben for boresight getting better and better and a lot of other people making advances. One thing I can't figure out is how are they doing the flat stipple and smoothing out the trigger guards. I'd rather try this on my own since I have and ample amount if tools in the workshop then spending 700 on someone else doing it for 17 weeks. Pic for reference

I really really hate stipling, but that is one of the most decent looking ones ive seen.

I must admit I'm not to keen on the stippling thing either but, that does look pretty decent.

Go ahead with this stipling fad. Just keep in mind, one slip and your gun is toast! I have seen a couple where guys have used a soldering iron and have melted right through their grip into the magwell.

enjoy.

oh, it also RUINS the resell value of your gun....

That's your opinion, I sold my last g19 for 75 more then I paid for it, after I removed the finger groves, under cut the trigger and did a stipple.

and it's not one slip. You have to press long and hard to go clear through the grip.

My technique is to checker a brass screw. Use that in a wood burning kit. It works and looks great.

Stippling doesn't ruin a Glock's value. Like a hammer, a Glock is a tool. It isn't a Rembrandt.

Who SELLS guns?

Seriously though, I wasn't a fan of stippling for a long time.  After looking at several done by Taran Tactical I sent my G17 to them.  It made a noticeable improvement in my opinion, and it looks very clean and professional.

I agree a crappy stipple job will devalue a pistol.  But to many people, a clean and professional stipple job won't hurt resale.  It probably won't help, and you won't get your money back out of it.  But the same can be said of any personalization IMHO.

Resale value?  It's a Glock.  There are a million of them out there.  Do what you want with it.

Stippling is very easy once you get over the fear of screwing up your pistol.  Practice on a spare AR A2 grip (everyone has a few of those laying around) for a couple of minutes first.  Once you get your technique down, it is pretty hard to screw up.

I used no power tools on mine.  Hand sanded and used dowel rods wrapped in sand paper to do under the trigger guard.

I believe some of these guys are using something like plastic repair epoxy to fill the grip for the grip reduction.  I certainly wish I used it instead of the marine epoxy everyone seems to recommend.  I'll have to see if I can coat my grip with it and stipple, otherwise it will be truck bed liner.

He needs more photos so people can get a better feel for his work.  His stippling looks phenomenal.
