| I took my brand new Glock 19, Gen 3, with a FDE slide to the range today for the first time. I was a little surprised at the performance. Starting with the very first round chambered, I had a problem where the slide did not go all the way forward. It was only a very small amount, but obviously enough to disable the firearm. I cleared the round and chambered the next and had it happen a second time. Changed managzines, but had it happed a few times more times throughout the day on various mags. Also, out of 100 rounds I put through it, I had 5 light strike FTFs. I am assuming that was due to not full returning to the firing position. Could it be the Cerakote FDE? I did clean and lube it before the first time out. Any suggestions what to look for? |
| It is not uncommon for guns that have the coating or NIBX or whatever coating to have this problem. Alot of the Guns have damaged channel liners from the coating and it is not allowing the firing pin free movement. Additionally some times the coating is just thick enough to take parts out of tolerances. If you contact the dealer ask them which distributer they got the gun from and they should be able to get you a replacement channel liner. Good luck |
