I had some FTF malfunctions in my Glock 20 today where the breech face was missing the rim of the cartridge and failing to feed. It seems that the rounds in this particular mag would tilt upward so badly that the protrustion on the bottom of the slide that normally pushed the cartridge out of the magazine was missing the head of the cartridge.

This was with a 9th generation mag with the ambi mag release cut outs and a third gen glock 20 follower. I swapped the follower with an older gen 2 out of one of my gen 8 mags and had no issues with either mag after that. I am wondering what could have caused the issue. When I started my range session the followers were in thier origional magazines.

Could I have just misalinged the mag spring on the floor plate when I reassembled them last? I didnt think that would have caused any issue as with most guns the springs straighen out when you load them if they are off to one end or the other of the floor plate.

What gives?

Backwards mag spring or trash in the mag slowing the follower maybe?

Springs were all in correctly. I did take some plastic burrs out of one mag that were left over after molding but they weren't in the mag that was giving me issues.
