I just got a new 17 and the thing will cycle and remain about a half inch out of battery about twice every mag. This is with 3 diffferent types of factory ammo and some reloads. My 19 and 26 ran flawlessly on all the ammo. I would have to beat the slide forward to get it back into battery and could not pull the slide back no matter what I tried.
I know I'm lucky that it didn't blow up and kill all the kids in my county, but does anyone have any idea what is causing this? Do I just send it back to Glock or what? |

I saw this with an Officer's brand new G27. Same issue. Glock really wanted me to send it back, and they ended up basically replacing every part besides the slide, barrel, and frame. This same gun was also firing once with the trigger pull, and again with the trigger release....scary. I suspected some type of problem with the trigger bar / connector / etc, but the engagement showed fine under an armorer's examination. Very strange problem that they seem to know about because they wanted it back right away.
Glock's replacement of everything fixed the problem though, so go for that. With a brandy new gun like that, there's no reason really not to go for the full overhaul. |

You need a new barrel that has been reamed to the proper dimensions.
I had this issue with my G34 with a Lone Wolf barrel in it. I sent the barrel to LW, along with some of my reloads without primer or powder, for them to ream out. That totally fixed the problem. You shouldn't have to do that with a brand new gun though. Send it back, or just send back the barrel, so they'll send you a new one that has been properly machined hopefully. |
