Hello new to the glock side so apologies if this was asked before I'm dying to get either a FDE  glock or a OD but have been reading a lot of posts about the color some how weakening the glock frame .I've read about cracks ,splits up by the lanyard hole ect. I can't imagine glock putting out faulty firearms or I'm just from the old school. So can anybody out there make me feel better about taking a dive into the world of glock, yes I know if something happened they would make things right but I would want a matching serial number gun not mismatched, help me out.TK

I wouldn't worry about it.

Buy the one you want, shoot it.

Where did you hear about it? I have yet to hear/read about colored Glocks failing.

First I've heard of this. I did some research on one before I bought mine.  Never heard there was a problem with weak frames because of being fde.

I do know Magpul did say the lack of carbon in fde mags made them not as strong as black ones but, they are still good to go.

That sounds like a bunch of crap to me.  The FDE  or OD frame is every bit as reliable as any other Glock.

It's just an old internet myth. Buy with confidence.

Sounds like bullshit to me.

I've got a ton of rounds through an OD 23 with zero issues.

Buy the one you want.

yeah....No.

No problems. No problems with PMags. No problems with FDE and OD Glocks.

Must have been started by a 1911 guy......

For what it's worth, I've seen a black Glock split at the lanyard hole. I don't think that failure is specific to the colored frames.

I've never heard of that. I had a glock 20 in fde that I put a bunch of full power 10 mm through without a problem.
