Not an official armorer....but I did sleep in a Holiday Inn Express last night....
Me- tall, dark...er, gray now, and dashingly handsome. Mechanically inclined- I can't rebuilt a small block Chevy from memory but I do know which end of that, uh, "poundy thing that hits the nails" I'm supposed to hold on to... It- short, dark and apparently attached to a G20... Object- replacement and then a long term love affair where we'll make beautiful (and loud) music together. So what do I need to know... |

It is very easy.
YouTube search should turn up a video. assuming you have your replacement extractor. Field strip the weapon and take the slide and look the tab of the striker now see the black plastic piece anterior to it? Take a ball point pen or a brass punch and press it anteriorly and hold it down. Now slide the back plate off careful not to let any springs go flying. Now pull out the striker. Then pull out the extractor spring. Now depress the striker block and turn the slide over and let the extractor out. Repeat in reverse to put it back in. Takes like 30 seconds. |

Everything is easy on a glock, except the spring cups, spring cups are a bitch. Also remove the backplate into a plastic bag or you may shoot a spring somewhere. Not at all. Just put the end of the striker on a sturdy ledge and the spring can be pulled down rather easily |

Once the slide is stripped, place it muzzle side down on a table, then insert the firing pin assembly (firing pin end up) into the firing pin hole in the back of the slide. This holds the firing pin assembly firmly so you can retract the spring. http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y46/erik996/Mobile%20Uploads/2577A41C-C725-4F69-B225-7537BA7FD29C_zpsq8s5qwt8.jpg Quoted:

No joke, my problem was replacing the spring cups was pushing the spring down it felt like my hands were being cut up. Okay now that I know that everything on a glock is easy. |
