So I liked my first Glock so much (g34 gen 4) that I decided to purchase a new glock 21 gen 4 to expand my collection.  Probably won't be the last.

I got around to shooting it today and had maybe 1 to 3 BTF's per each 13 round mag. I was shooting a combination of Winchester 230gr fmj factory loads and Roze 185gr jhp hand loads chrono'd at 1000 fps ave. Shot about 250 rounds total.

I'd rather not go through the pain of sending it to Glock. Does anyone have a fix, such as a different extractor etc? That is, if there is a simple fix.

The funny thing is, I haven't had a single BTF with the 34.

Thanks

I recently got a gen 3 34 that would hit me with brass. Guys here recommended shooting it more before fixing anything. I now have around 350 rds through it and last range visit I didn't have any brass to face.  So maybe put
More rds through first maybe it will fix itself

I had a few BTFs with my first 21 gen 4 during the first few hundred rounds.  Doesn't happen any more.

Thanks for the replies, gents. I'll give until the one thousand round mark before I start crying again.

Holding it wrong...LOL.

Replace extractor, ejector (if there's even a different version of ejector for the .45s?), and the spring load bearing (plastic thing that presses up against the back plate) for the extractor.

That's what the armorer told me he did when I brought my G4 19 down to Smyrna to get it fixed. Since he did that, no problems.

Yes, I am. Just quoting a certain tactical guy on YouTube about BTF issues.

My 17Gen4 that I got when they first came out didn't act up until 1500 rounds with a brass pelting that wouldn't quit.  I sent it back to Glock on their dime and they fixed it,replacing the ejector.  it ran fine for about another 300 rounds and it stove piped.  Then about every other round stove piped or gave brass to the face.

I sent it back again.  Glock called me and said they could not fix it.  They sent me a brand new 17Gen4.  Not bad customer service.

I would request that folks use the proper terminology:

Yes, James Yeager. Just bringing in a little humor. I had the same issue with my G17 RTF2. I don't notice it happening now.

A couple years ago I had a G21 that was putting the brass right into my forehead.  I sent it back to Glock and they totally replaced the entire pistol.  The new one slings the brass about two inches from my right eye.  My gun is a poster child for always wearing eye protection.
