Anybody know why Glock only sells their 380 auto to law enforcement?

It's because it is made overseas and it doesn't pass the ATF's "sporting purposes" test under the 68 Gun Control Act.  They have a point system they use to score guns, and the Glock .380's don't pass.  If they were to make them here, they would be OK to sell, but the general thinking is that there wouldn't be much of market for guns the same size as the 19 and 26 that shoot .380.

Thanks. I agree about the size thing, I think if they made one in a sub compact they would sell. A lot of the women I know that carry likes the sub compact size in the Glocks but many have issues with the recoil of the 9mm's and larger calibers in them small pistols.

The 380s are still a blowback design.  I found recoil worse than 9mm.
