Picked up a new gen 3 and need new night sights, my 17 has trijicons on it and they are fine but is there a better or cheaper option

Best "budget" option is to send it to Glock - $57 for factory night sights, installed.

I prefer Trijicon HDs, but you're going to spend well over double that for a set of HDs.

I prefer Mepro's on all my Glocks..much less expensive and the dot's are a little larger making them easier to see

I use Ameriglos...

http://www.ameriglo.net/catalog/sights/pistol-sights/glock/night-sights/front-sights?page=1

GL-212-GR-C for the front on standard size (17, 19, 22, 23 etc) Glocks...

http://www.ameriglo.net/catalog/sights/pistol-sights/glock/night-sights/rear-sights

GL-147R for the rear on standard size  (17, 19, 22, 23 etc) Glocks...

Similar to the Trijicon HD's, but for me a slight improvement.... I only wish they made the rear sight with a little wider notch and 'U' shaped rather than square...

I would first shoot the gun with the ammo you are going to carry for self defense.  Determine if the gun is shooting high or low and at what distance.  If your G19 shoots point of aim-point of impact than go with a set of Meprolights or Glock Factory tritium sights.  if not go to Dawson Precision to determine the correct height sight and purchase a set through them.
