I have had this gun for going on 2 yrs now, prolly put about 500 rds through it. When i first took it to the range using umc ammo about every 2 clips a spent shell would catch as it was exiting (only barely catching) but still nontheless. It would come out easily with just a pull of the slide. As i have put more ammo through it, it has been happening farless, but it still happens about 1 in 50, I have mag ext but it will do it with the stock config mag as well. I also tried using winchester wb ammo and it does it too. Any help as to what could be happening let me know. Other than that i love the gun. ty |
| I really think that you are limp wristing the gun. The G36 is a lot of punch in a small gun. It is very easy to do. Mine has done this on several occasions and I find that practice is the best remedy. No offense, but 500 rounds in 2 years is very light use. Shoot that thing! That is what it is meant for. |

Blaze, Out of a new gun with good mags, an extraction problem may be solved with a firm grip. The 36 can be tough to handle especially with some +p loads. Try holdong your gripping hand wrist more firm and slightly downward (stiff). This should give your 36 the added resistance for the recoil to work against for better extraction. MB |
| The one I had was really finiky. It ended up going back to Glock Inc in GA twice. They replaced everything twice except for the barrel, slide and frame. I think they cycle too fast. I eventually found out that mine would only cycle 100% on 165 and 185gr ammo. Since I like 230gr ammo best I traded it for a G30. |
| I just bought one from a really nice guy out here. He's an officer, and former SF guy. I presume he knows how to shoot well, at least from being SF. Anyways, he sold it to me very cheap, and when I asked him why, he said it was not very forgiving of limp wristing. I have not yet shot it, but I intend to put it through it's paces next weekend. I've never had a problem with Glocks, even if limp wristing, except with a G17 I had in '92. That gun would only function when held firmly. Personally, I don't want to own a gun that has FTFs if it's not held tight. I hope I don't have this problem. I do know one thing. G30s function very well, and everyone I know that has one agrees. You would think they would both function with similar reliability. |
