Hi All, I just want to say that I am happy to be a new owner of a Glock 27.  I did some research and concluded that the Glock 27 will be my ultimate CCW.  I considered the Glock 30 but that's a 45 and it is slightly bigger and just a tad heavier.  I also considered the ParaOrdnance Warthog and Kimber Ultra Carry but decided the 27 was it.  This will be my 1st Glock and it will be the 3rd semi I will own.  My other pistols are Firestar 9mm, Beretta 96F Centurion and this is the 3rd.  my other one is the Bushmaster M4A3.  I am happy with my new weapon, I can actually carry this one now.  I added the Pearce Grip extender to both of the magazines it came with, and my next mod to it will be the LaserMax.  Any suggestions or advice to a new Glock owner will be appreciated.

My only question is did anyone else get two shell casings in an envelope with their case?  I was thinking this was used to optest fire the weapon.  Thank You all and I look forward to reading excellent message everyone writes.  Be Safe.

stick w/ Glock factory mags--lonewolfdist.com, etc

use quality ammo

get a good ccw holster--galco(leather) and bladetech, comptac (kydex) are nice

check out some night sites

i use full size mags to complement my compact g-29--spare mags, i get 5 extra rounds; you can use g-22 mags: 15 instead of 11 rnds

Why did I get two fired brass casings with my Glock?
Some states now require that firearms manufacturers provide fired casings with every new handgun. The brass will be collected by the dealer and given to the state to be entered into an information database. If you are not in one of these states the dealer usually gives just gives them to the customer.--from:www.glockfaq.com/

now shoot the hell out of it; practice. a lot.

Get some meprolight night sights, a good holster, and forget the lasermax.  Take the money you would have spent on the laser and use it for good training.  It will be far more valuable.  I use 165 gr Rem golden sabers in my 23 and 27.  Congrats on the 27.

i just got my 27 too! lovin evry bit of it.

i agree drop the lasermax, i had one in my 23 and holstered it would turn on by itself and drain the batt.

agree with the others get some mepro night sights and some training or at least shoot the sh*T out of it so you get well accustomed to it since its your ccw.

i too was looking at the warthog and a kimber and since my 23 has never given me any problems and i have read hit &miss about the others i decided on another glock

i have glock factory mags with the pearce +1 grip ext. and they work great. also i you could get the glock factory hi-caps which would give you 11rds if you can find them at a decent price.

as for a ccw round i carry speer gold dots 180gr in both my 23 and 27 i also practice with them too. ammoman has training gold dots in bulk for a decent price so thats what i use since i carry with them i practice with them

I've had mine for several years, and not one problem whatsoever.

The one and only thing about the 27 is that unlike most handguns, you will need to DEATH GRIP it if you expect to double/triple tap.  The things are monsters of snappy recoil.  Seriously, practice a few times with full loads before you need to.

I have both a 27 and 23 also.  The 27 doesnt have all that much recoil.  I guess that will differ with who you talk to.  I can rapidly unload a magazine and stay accurate.

The 155/165g are more snappy while the 180's are more a push.  You do want to squeeze the heck out of it, you'll find it does not hinder accuracy and aids in follow up shots.

Forget the laser, buy a .22 kit instead or just more ammo.  Check out a set of factory night sights, the price it right!
