I am looking at a .45 ACP Glock and I am not sure which to get. My choices are;
1. G30 Gen 4: Is the frame smaller than the Gen 3 version of the G30, like the SF version? 2. G30SF: I think the only version out is the Gen 3? Is there a barrel diameter difference between the G30S and the g30 SF? 3. Is the Gen 4 better than the Gen 3? I understand that the finish and internals are better on the Gen 3. Thanks in advance for your help. |

Glock 30S .45 ACP... I just backordered my blue label G30S a while ago and cant wait..
Main differences from Gen 3 to Gen 4 are grip texture, bigger and ambidextrous mag release and an "improved" dual RSA, and interchangeable back grips that are included. Gen4s also come with 3 magazines instead of the regular 2 (blue and red labels) |
| I have a few gen 4s and have not had a problem with any of them. I say put both in your hand and see what feels best. For me the Gen 4 texture is MUCH better and the larger mag release is easier to push as well. A gen4 with no back strap will have the same frame size as an SF model. |

There were design improvements implemented in the gen 4 guns but they tried to cheap out on some of the parts which is causing the problems you've heard about. |

And I wouldn't say the internals are "better" on the G3, they're just different. The Gen 4 .45 Glocks start out at the SF sized frame with no backstrap. |
