How long ago did Glock start issuing the Gen4 beavertail backstraps?

Past few months they have started shipping with gen 4's

I've been seeing them a lot locally and on gunbroker.

It's factory. Gun came with (2) with a beavertail and (2) without.

Test fire date is 3/4/13.

Mine was test fired on 2/26, but it was a 19. Are they only shipping on full size guns?

I've only seen them on the full size so far.

First set I saw came with my Gen4 G17. Made me go back and check the Gen4 G21 I had bought 2 weeks earlier, nothing.

How is the grip with the beaver tail grip.

I tried one of the after market beaver tails on a gen 3 and didnt care for it.

I just bought a Gen4 G19 with a 2-22-13 test fire date, and it just has the usual backstraps. No beavertails.

I'm not sure if these are being included in the smaller guns or just the full size.

I would have bet a large sum of money that I would not have liked it.....but it's actually really awesome.

100% recommended, makes it feel like a different (better) gun.

Test fire 2-6-2013, no backstraps.

Test fire 2-18-2013 included backstraps.

So, anything after the beginning of february looks to be good to go.

Tried a Gen4 G22 at the LGS. Comes with 2 regular and 2 with beaver tails. I liked it with the medium beaver tail. Makes for a really positive grip and completely different feel to the gun. More like the M&P.
Still has the angle of Glock. I think this is a major improvement and most will like it.
