I currently have a G19 as a backup weapon for primary long gun used for home defense.
Give me a recommendation for a light to be mounted on my Gen 3 G19. |

I'm using a Crimson Trace Rail Master on my bedside pistol, a Sig Pro SP2022. Very small, very bright, easy to click on with one finger, and very reasonably priced, if you shop around a bit. Linky
A pic on my SP2022:

I use a Crimson Trace Lightguard because I feel they have the best activation of any light, easy to activate with no extra manipulation required is handy in a defensive situation imo.
I am also not a fan of super bright lights inside as they have the tendency to blind me as well if I just woke in the dead of night, so I like to keep it below 150 lumens for that sort of thing. Though, this may also depend on how large your home is, hallway length, room size, etc. |

Quoted:
Normal X300, or a TLR-1 if your looking to save some cash. Both are great lights and are the usual suspects when anyone is looking for a good pistol mounted light. Makes them super easy to find holsters for as well. +1. You dont want 500 lumens inside the house. |

Streamlight TLR-3
Bright as heck, less than $75 most places, momentary and all-on modes depending on which way you rock the switch. It's also very light weight and is short, it doesn't hang way off the front of the gun like the bigger Streamlight models and other brands I've seen. |

I've heard issues of them not fitting to G19s very well not sure if it was gen related or not. |

Quoted: I want 500 lumens hell I'll take 1000 lumens as long as the beam patter is correct you won't blind yourself off walls.Quoted: Normal X300, or a TLR-1 if your looking to save some cash. I personally think that is crazy. I have one of the new 320 lumen Surefire G2X lights on one of my rifles and used it inside and it definitely killed my ability to see for a short period of time. I feel that 150 lumens and under is best for home defense, plenty bright for target identification and won't affect your vision at all. |

My TLR's are the 300 lumen model and I don't notice any more back splash than the 120 lumen ones. The bright center seems larger but that's about all. From the other side though the difference is noticeable |

I bought the Glock flashlight for my G22. It's light and the controls are easy to use, it uses two CR123 batteries.

Quoted: Get X300 , The X300 Ultra is to bright for use indoors . http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v392/sphillips45/Guns/Glock17SurefireX300_zps554d43d9.jpg I live in a shoebox sized house and the x300 Ultra is not too much. That said, my walls are not painted white. That could be a factor possibly. |
