Does anyone have any real experience with the new Glock 30S? Not just banging away a few rounds at SHOT Range Day but real experience. I like the concept but other than print magazines, the only actual hands-on review I can find is at http://commonsense-t-p.com/2013/02/10/glock-30s-range-and-extended-use-review-a-big-bore-compact-glock-that-fits/. Looks like a thorough write up but I'd like more info. Such as from shooters who have been shooting one. Google Glock 30S Review and all you get, except for the one above, is a "review" from firing a few rounds at SHOT Range Day.
I'm sure they will get one in my area soon enough but I'm the typed to start researching early. Help anyone? |
| I have a standing order in with my dealer for either a G30 Gen4 or a G30s and have had the order in for at least 2 months now. He deals with one of the largest distributors in this liberal state (MA) and I have not been able to get either so far (waiting for a blue label). I have found dealers and distributors in other states that have those models of blue label guns in stock and for sale but have been told by all that they cannot send a blue label gun to another state, so I sit and wait....<><....:) |

I got one a few weeks ago, and have put about 200 rounds (185 hornady hxt reloads & factory 230 fmj) through it. I have smaller hands and I really like how it feels and shoots.
I've only shot from 10 yards in order for me to work on my trigger control ( I tend to shoot left/down- right handed). Regardless of my weak marksmanship, I plan on making it my EDC once I can get better at shooting it. The day after I sent the slide to my local gunsmith to install some trijicon sights on it, a holster I ordered came in (CompTac Gladiator). So, I don't know yet if it will fit or not. This has been my biggest issue thus far- finding a holster. There have been numerous threads here on this subject with no conclusion. Once I get the slide back from he gunsmith, I'll let you know if it fits in the Gladiator (the model that is made to fit 'all G30 types'- but I'm sure they said that prior to the G30S coming out). OP, not sure if this is what you wanted to hear- just my personal experience thus far. |

I have owned mine for a while now, I bought it a few days before SHOT. Was luck I got it.
I love it, it is my edc, no ftf or anything, very little recoil for a small 45, with a flush mag and no pinky on the gun though it kicks a good amount however. I REALLY REALLY REALLY LIKE IT. i would buy it with no hesitation |

I got mine last week and finally made it to the range yesterday. I put 100 rounds through it, (low on .45 ammo) and it was flawless. It feels better in my hand than my 30SF. Just a little snappier than my 30SF but still very controllable and I was able to double tap steel at 25 yards no problem.
I am debating getting rid of my 30SF now that I have the 30S. |

How could you have avoided participating in any of the dumb stuff in GD that long? Just got my 30s yesterday from Cabelas in Dallas. Will get to shoot it tomorrow. |

For the life of me I can't figure out why they put the effort into releasing this gun so late in the game, and did it as a Gen 3. It's like they get THIS close to what I want, but can't go the extra mile. Yeah, that really doesn't make sense to me either. |
