| I knocked a mag off the bench at the range and blew off a little grit, but wanted to disassemble and give it a good going over. I pushed in the little button, squeezed the sides of the mag as pictured in the manual (they didn't seem to give any) and tried to slide the bottom off. No go. Is there some gimmick- "C" clamps? |

I use a wooden chopstick because I've found it mars less. Pry out as you push out to get the little nibs to disengage from the bottom panel. I've read about guys just popping them off with a knife/screw driver, which sounds feasible, but I haven't tried that yet. I tried a C-clamp and just ended up with a mag with round circles on the bottom. |
Let me guess: ten round post-ban mag? |

Ok, what you will need to do is; 1) push your armorers tool all the way onto the base hole 2) squeze the mag sides at the little lock tabs 3) pry the base off using the tool. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v79/hotrod9mm/Mag-Base-removal-H.jpg If it still will not come off use the edge of a counter and push the corner of the base to help start it off the mag. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v79/hotrod9mm/Mag-Base-removal-2-H.jpg |
