How are the barrels of Glock pistols made?

I know they are hammer forged. But before they enter that hammer machine, were the raw material casted/forged/machined from solid stock?

Also, what steel alloy is the barrel? 41xx type?

Yeah instead of being drilled out and cut from stock the steel is "smashed" around a form/dowel. Don't know which steel they use.

They're MIM, made of ground-up Lorcins.
