| So I picked up a couple +2 mag extensions for my 19, and after getting only one installed in about an hour (because the floorplates are a royal pain in the ass to get off) and doing a functions check, the mag still only holds 15 rounds. On top of that, it seems realllly sketchy and stiff chambering the first 2-3 rounds (it's very stiff). I don't need a new spring do I? Any thoughts would be appreciated. |

I recently put a +2 Glock baseplate on a 23 mag.
It fed but the slide didn't lock open on empty. I figured out the necessity to get 15+1 would only mean using stock G22 mags. Oddly enough, however, the slide locks open on empty when a G22 mag with the same +2 plate is in the gun. It is loaded to 17rds. Consider the possibility of your G19 mags not operating perfectly unless kept stock. Maybe installing the plate on a G17? Posted Via AR15.Com Mobile |
| I have had a couple of +2 installations where the coils of the spring hung up on the top edges of the insert. I am not sure what the factory solution is, but I slightly squeezed the bottom two coils so that they would seat inside the insert on compression. Once they make it past the top of the insert you should be good to go. |

I got a few glock +2's to try. Work fine on my 9mm mags. I could have sworn that I read that they would add 2 to 40cal mags as well. Not so much.... bummer -T Glock calls them +2 extensions (without designation of caliber). I know I've heard of people fitting 11 rounds in a G27 mag with a +2 on it. I had a G27 mag with a +2 on it that I jammed that 11th round in with a mag loader. The mag was so "full" that there was no room left in the mag for it to be able to seat in the G27 with the slide in battery. Well, "no" room is not entirely accurate. I mean, come on, I had to try and get it in there. So I put the G27 mag with 11 rounds in the gun with ample force for it to actually seat. Once that mag clicked into place I thought I'd won. Until I realized that all that pressure had pushed off the +2 extension off the bottom of the magazine halfway. It was pushing everything out the bottom of the mag. I replaced the baseplate with a flush one and stopped trying to put 11 rounds in a G27 mag with a +2 extension. I still use G27 mags with +2 extensions, but I never put +2 in them anymore, only +1. So to me, after that experience, I will only load 10 rounds in a G27 mag with extension. I have no experience with the +2 extensions on G23 or G22 mags to know if +2 can effectively be used in connection with those mags. But if you ask me, it's a no-go with the G27 mags. |

the old "+2" marked extensions would add 2 rounds in 9mm and 1 in .40 the new "+" marked extensions add 2 rounds in 9mm and .40 My experience described above was with a brand new "+" marked mag, not an old "+2" marked mag. I bought it brand new just a few months ago. #8 follower with ambi mag cut on the mag with factory installed "+" extension. Like I said, it would fit +2 in it (total of 11), but not seat in the weapon in battery without blowing the extension off the bottom of the mag. Only +1 in my experience with even the new "+" mag extensions in .40. Have you successfully used a G27 magazine with +2 in it loaded in a G27 with the slide in battery, resulting in a total of 12 rounds on board? |

no, but i have with a gen 2 G23. were you using the mag locking plate that goes along with the "+" extension? Is the "mag locking plate" the triangular/wedge shaped plastic piece that fits into the extension when it is installed on the mag body (depress to disassemble)? As in a regular un-extended mag, the piece is flat and you push it in to disassemble the mag. If so, then "Yes" is the answer. The magazine that I had fail, as described above, was purchased brand new with the extension already installed on it. Once it failed, I took the factory "+" extension off, which also had the triangular/wedge shaped plate in it, and replaced the extension with a flush retention plate and baseplate (converting the mag to a 9-rd standard mag). So, "Yes," the magazine in question, before it came apart, was complete from the factory with all appropriate factory parts for an extended "+" magazine, and was "as assembled" by the factory, not by me. I realize this is a sample size of one. One experience with a "+" magazine (G27). So this does not prove that all G27 "+" magazines will come apart when loaded to 11+1. Maybe I had one that was out of spec, messed up, or something. Maybe my other G27 "+" magazines that I have now would work fine with 11+1, but I don't use them that way. I figure it's not worth all the extra stress on the mag, extension, spring, etc to get that one extra round in there. I'm fine with 10+1 in my G27 when I carry it with an extended mag. Most of the time it just has a flush mag and 9+1 in it anyway. |
| Lol thanks or all of the tips. It seems that everyone has their own story with the extensions. For the record, everything about the gun is OEM Glock including the magazines, inserts, and floorplates. I'lll try them on the G17 mags I have as Aimless said. I guess 19 rounds in a G19 is better then 17 after all. |

Quoted: I called glock on this a few years back and they told me that the +2's are only meant for the 27 and 26 magazines. They advised against putting the +2's on any of their other mag sizes. thats weird because the extensions existed many years before the G26/27 did ![]() |

My g35 (40cal) mag with #8 follower and Glock "+" (#7165) extension DOES NOT fit 2, only 1 additional.
Really wish it dd. Thinking its not worth it for 40cal now. Was thinking about filling down the small protrusion on the bottom of the follower to gain the extra round but there isnt enough to remove to make the additional round fit. Damn.... -T |
| I purchased a couple of the Scherer +2 base plates for my G22 and some times I get 18 rounds, I know its odd and I have to keep count to make sure I am at 17 to keep things on the safe side. I use a easy mag loader which is why I can do so. They work great!!! But they are loose, so you will have to secure them down with etape. Also they are cheap if you can shop around you can nab them for a deal. Here at the Glock store they are $14 for a pair. http://glockstore.com/pgroup_descrip/3_Mags+%26amp%3B+Extensions/11_Scherer+Magazine+Extensions/?return=%3ftpl%3Dindex%26category_id%3D3%26_Mags%2B%26amp%3B%2BExtensions%2F |
