Can anyone explain why G22 mag springs have one more coil than G17 mag springs?  Both mags are the same dimensions and hold relatively the same weight in ammunition (17 9mm vs 15 40 S&W).  It would seem the same spring would be able to reliably feed that quantity of ammunition still, the G22 mag spring has one extra coil.

On a different note, do Peace +2 extensions cause a mag spring to be compressed beyond it's elasticity range, which can therefore cause the spring to take a set?

The additional coil is to resolve the problem that occured when firing with a light on the 40 cal guns.

even though the extra coil spring started out as being part of the fix for the G22 with lights issue (the other part being the now standard 11 coil mag spring), it is now OEM for both the 17 and 22

fwiw, the 11 coil mag spring is what Glock suggests for use with full sized models and the OEM +2 extender
