just bought my first NEW glock. a brandy spankin new G22. i have yet to shoot it. but while checking it out i noticed it doesnt feel the same as my G17.

i bought my G17 used but well taken care of. the new feels well, not as smooth. the trigger and slide dont move like butter like my 17. and the mags feel kinda cheap. did the mags quality change? my 17 has older leo marked mags.

or do i just need to break her in a ton and clean lube real good and it will eventually get buttery smooth?

Things will eventually get smoother.  Shoot a bunch of ammo through it, dry fire it a bunch, etc.  If you want to speed things up, google the 25 cent trigger job.  Bunches of Youtube videos on how to do it.  Essentially you just polish up the internals.  Shooting it a bunch accomplishes the same thing, but I don't like to wait

Here's a newer vid in HD that shows the process just using Flitz and Q-tips:

Be sure to clean and lube the new Glock!  I use Mobil 1, 15W50, and just four-five small drops for the entire lube job.  The recoil spring is stronger than your older Glock's recoil spring.  I polish all the metal-to-metal mating surfaces of every Glock that I acquire.  I also install an aftermarket connector and Agrip on my Glocks.  It goes without saying that the factory sights are crap and, of course, should be replaced with some real sights.

It will smooth out like your older 17, just give it some range love.

Do THIS then run 1k rounds through it as fast as you can. Clean, lube, repeat...

Just run some rounds through it and it'll smooth out like your g17.

Just finished that up yesterday on my new 17.

Its not quite .25 cents. Had to buy the parts for my dremel.

It did smooth it out.

You didn't have to buy parts for your Dremel.  Cut a regular q-tip in half and chuck that in your Dremel.

Just shoot it until it quits squeaking.  No worse sound than new Glock squeak.
