I'm trying to install the Pearce grip extension for my G26 mags and I can't get the factory base plate off.
What am I doing wrong? I've followed the instructions, squeezed the floor plate locking tabs while depressing the floor plate bottom button and It will not slide off.

Help me obiwan glocknobi, you're my only hope!

I just went through this two nights ago.  You take a medium sized flat head screw driver and depress the factory plate pin and pry/lift while pushing outward and it'll pop off.  It feels like your gonna damage it but you wont, it just needs a lil pursuading............Now getting the extra two rounds in is a different story as I can only seat 11 and for the life of me cannot get that 2nd round in..........

The newest magazines are quite difficult to take apart. You just have to force the floorplate off with a punch in the hole. I use a 1/8 inch punch.

+1

I normally use an allen key because that's what i have on hand. Push the key or punch through the hole then simply push towards the front of the mag

Best method I've found is to take one of those sliding grip clamps, like an Irwin Quick Grip, and position the two sides on either side of the mag body. This is used to squeeze the mag body in a bit. Then I take my Glock disassembly tool, push it in the hole in the baseplate, and apply pressure with the tool/punch to the baseplate in the direction which would take it off. A little force is still required but I've never had one not come off with this method. And it is cheap and doesn't scratch up the mag body.

Everyone here is spot on - stick a screw driver, allen wrench, punch, armorer's tool, etc through the hole and pry the base plate toward the front of the mag while squeezing a little at the bottom.  You don't have to squeeze all that hard.

Thanks guys, I'll give it another go in bit. I really just want the extra finger groove for my pinky otherwise it shoots very well and for me it is very accurate.

I have several G26 mags with Pearce +0 floorplates.  Recently started using a GAP floorplate for daily carry.  Love the GAP floorplate!!

I went through this a week ago.  I used a C clamp...tightened it on the sides of the mag, and you can see when the "nubs" are clear of the base, and the base will slide free.   I struggled, and pried, for an hour.  Broke out the C clamp and was done with 4 mags in 10 mins.

I got a couple of A&G extensions for cheap for my 19 to use 17 mags but I don't care for them because no matter how tight I screw down the clamp it has an annoying wiggle and a gap that looks crap.

Thanks for the help guys I'm really falling in love with my Glocks now that I can shoot them accurately. I fought the low left blues for too damn long.

Sorry to keep beating this dead horse. but has anyone had any luck with these extensions?

$36 bucks aint awful but I have enough useless junk that won't work or is just plain crap that I'm ashamed to sell to a fellow gun owner.

I like the 33 rounders but they stick out so far they are basically a range novelty to me. blasphemy

I have lots of experience and good luck with the Arredondos.

I use them on both my 9mm and .40 mags for 3 gun and they run geat.  I get 20 in .40 and 22 in my 9mm mags with them.  I can squeeze 23 in the 9mm but then reloads are very very difficult under speed on a closed slide.  Run them with confidence.  I drop them all the time on dirt and rocks/gravel with rounds still in them....they have never lost any rounds and are quick and easy to take apart for cleaning.

This is what you want to do to avoid cussing like a drunken sailor on shore leave

I have a very small C-clamp that I have had forever that I use to just slightly press in the sides after pushing the spring-plate down as far as the glock tool will push it.  Push in the glock tool, slightly tighten the c-clamp, and then slide the glock tool with the floorplate off the mag body far enough to clear the nubs on the mag body.  Doing it this ways prevents damage to the nubs and keeps you from losing your mind and throwing shit across the garage

I'm sure a harbor freight-type place would have a small c-clamp like mine

Hope this description helps
