I am currently awaiting a Crossbreed Supertuck I purchased from Ebay for my G20sf. It is the standard one (NO combat cut). I'm wondering if the leather behind the mag release will cause the gun to drop it's mag. It's a used holster so I don't mind taking a blade to it and trimming it myself.  Just wondering if this really is an issue, or am i trying to fix a problem that doesn't exist. Any Info on this holster for a Glock would be great.

Thanks

Rick

That is the ONLY issue that I experienced with my crossbreed super tuck for my Glock 30. The mag released, but did not drop.

I carry a  G19 gen 4 in a super tuck and have for about a year. I can say honestly that I've never had that problem. I've never even heard of anyone having that problem until now.

I have seen it brought up before here so it is a possibility.  Mine is not combat cut but there is a spot on the holster where the mag release has made a dent.  I have tried to roll around of a hard floor to get it to release and it hasn't but I think that it could be a possibility depending on how easy for gun is to real ease and how squish/not squishy the wearer is.

My Parker holster (same design) would release the extended mag catch on my 32 and 34 against my bony hips. Switching to a standard release allieveated the problem.

I carved a hole in the leather, where the mag release went. No dropped  mags now.

You bought it used so I hafta ask if you got the non-combat cut because that's what you wanted, or just because it was a good price and no wait?  If the latter, consider DYI surgery that bad boy into a combat cut.

What's your reasoning for this.  I carry the non-cut and it's worked out great.

OP - I've never had an issue with the mag releasing.

1) With a combat cut, the mag release isn't pressed into the leather and 2) it's easier to get a good grip when you draw.  That's why the combat cut exists.

Thanks for the responses guys. I guess I really have to try it out for a while to see if there's gonna be a problem. The leather getting in the way of the draw was someything else i was wondering about. I'll see if it's something I can get used to. A dent or imprint where the mag release sits is a good idea. Madmike I bought it cause thats what I found. It's used but looks hardly used.  i wouldn't say it was cheap, but I should receive it tomorrow. If i find that a good grip is difficult to get with the excess leather, or if it depresses the mag release,  i will cobat cut it myself. Anyone done this? Maybe pics?

Yes, it can drop the mag depending on your carry location and body type. Mine did in bucket seats. I modified mine quite a bit. I've since trimmed the back clip to match the front clip.

Got my Crossbreed today!! I am really liking it. my G20 feels so comfortable in there. Draws and reholstering are a breeze..Wore it today for a while, don't see the mag release getting pushed very hard. I guess that means I'm squishy?.lol. it is a used holster, and i can see where the released was imprinting on the leather. That may have worn enough indention to prevent the mag release from being pressed. I do notice that the leather behind the grip does make getting a good grip difficult. This means a DIY combat cut is still in the plans.

Contactcole2 awsome job on that trimming. And those pics are exactly what I needed. Thank you. My holster came with two sets of kydex clips. i really like the way those metal with the cross look. Gonna have to order some.

Thanks
Rick

I've had this problem when I put an extended mag release (G21) into my G17. If you want to cut away that piece, some EMT trauma shears ought to do the job.

Today I finaly had the chance to wear my Supertuck all day. Began early in the morning. Made and drank my coffee with my Glock 20 on.. Then headed out with the family on a 30min drive to our  favorite irrigation ditch for some Sunday morning Bass Fishing. Lots of walking, lots kneeling. lots of bass, and alot of bass!!..And like usual, one of my kids will snap a line with a huge bass still layin at the edge of the bank, and into the water I go to retrive it...

Got home took a few minutes break, then off to do yard work. Still winter, but here in South Texas it is HOT!!!..After yard work done enjoyed the rest of the evening with the kids. horse playing and even ran a feww races with them.

The holster just came off me a few minutes ago. I've read this before and now I see for myself. My crossbreed holter is molding to my body!! What can I say?? This holster is COMFORTABLE!!!!!!!!!! I love it! My Big Glock doesn't feel heavy in there or too bulgy. It doesn't move too much either. The magazine was never accidently released. wasn't worried about concealability today, I just wore a T shirt..it just about hides it. As far as comfort WOW!!. Awsome..

BTW, realize the G20 has a bigger slide and frame, but out of curioustity, I carried my G26 in my crossbreed for a while yesterday. The hight of the G20 (from top of slide to bottom of trigger guard) is the biggest difference. The ejection port locks in place and since it is an IWB holster, the belt keeps the G26 from moving around..Probably wont do this too oftend. just nice to know I have that option.

Thank

Rick

I had the problem of it releasing the mag, but never fell out because I carry with Pre-Bans

I ended yo taking a pair of sharp scissors and making my own combat cut.

Solved the problem and I can draw 100% easier with a better grip.

IM if you want pictures of it.
