I got my first Glock today, model 22 Gen 4, not a fan of striker guns but thought if I did get one I'd get the one that started it all.  Anyway, the gun feels good, haven't shot it yet, but thought I'd load up two of the mags.  There is this loading aid that comes with it and it does help but is there an easier method for loading the mags??  Seems very difficult pushing the mag spring down.

Load the mags and let them sit for a few day. They will get easier with use.
And that mag loading tool works pretty good as far as I'm concerned.
The HKS pistol mag loader may work better for you if you want to buy one.

Get the maglula. I won't load mags without it now.

Hehe, I love my maglula.

BTW, wasn't the glock that started it all a 17, not a 22?    Or do you mean polymer guns in general?

I Second on the Maglula. It's worth every penny of the $25 I spent on it.

I meant polymer guns in general, it was the 9mm I believe, is that a model 17?

I'll try a maglula, where to get one???

The Glock 17 (9mm) in 1982 started it all.  The Glock 22 (40S&W) came out in 1990, 8 years later.

Ditto, I love my Maglula UpLULA! It's universal so it works on everything from my Glock, H&K, 1911, you name it.  Anything 9mm, 40S&W, or 45ACP.

The Uplula is badass - I used to look down on mag loaders in general until I realized just how fast you can reload your mags at the range with an Uplula compared to jamming rounds in with your thumbs

And let's not even get into the Maglula and Striplula for AR mags - an absolute necessity as far as I'm concerned now that I own them.  As others have said, worth every penny.

Glock mags get a little easier over time, but I have found that's its almost always a pain to get the last two rounds in.

The first polymer framed handgun.  1970-1989.

I find it easier and quicker to just use my thumbs. I have been in the game for a long time- over 30 years of pistol shooting so maybe I am just used to it. I also tend to load my mags at home the evening prior to going to the range to save time at the range- most times when I take a semi auto to the range I'll bring 10-12 loaded mags with me.

Good grief, I guess Glock was not the first polymer framed gun, thanks for setting me straight.

I watched the video of the guy loading the different mags, I got to have one of those UpLulas.

Thanks guys, always get the best and latest advice from AR15.com

Now off to the gun show to get my UpLula.

Never used a loader...in training we shoot around 400/500 rounds a day (2-3 times a year).
No time for a loader.

Remember...you must push up with the mag hand while you push down with the cartridge hand...it cuts the force in two (1/2 for each hand).

I use the uplula...pain goes away.  It just huwt my poor wittle thumbs too bad.  In all seriousness...shooting 500 rounds and reloading each, the thumb does get worn down, PITA.  Uplula to the rescue.

Put your big boy undies on and just use your hands

Seriously, ever time I try to use a loader it seems to take twice as long. I don't use thumbs though, I use my index fingers

What I use.  There's two sizes, one for Glock 17, 19, 22, and 23 mags.  The other for Glock 20, 21 mags.  They work great and can be had for 1/3 price of a Uplula
