I have a fairly new G23 with about 500 rounds since new. In the middle of a magazine, with more than one magazine, the next round will frequently look like it's hanging up on the feed ramp. It has done this with WWB, Federal FMJ, and Winchester Ranger 180 grn. What gives? Gun is a Gen 3. Posted Via AR15.Com Mobile |
The newest .40 and .357SIG magazines have protrusions of plastic at the front of the feed lips which may be oversized and rub against the top round in the magazine as it rises, slowing its rise and causing a failure to feed. It's not uncommon to have more than one of these magazines do this at the same time. I've had two magazines do it, and I fixed them by shaving those protrusions down until the magazines worked properly. In the following picture, you don't have to follow those specific instructions, just shave those protrusions down until the magazines work properly.
It may also be your extractor, the newest extractors can be oversized and fit too tight which would cause failures to feed. You could try replacing the extractor and see if the problem goes away. |

Can you tell me how many different mags you have used, what number magazine body, and what number follower is in the mags? What kind of extractor did you replace it with, factory Glock or a Lone Wolf?
