Probably a redundant/dumb question for all you long-term Glock owners, but I've finally taken the plunge and ordered myself a new Gen3 Glock 34.  Now shopping for holsters, I thought I heard the 34 frame would be compatible for and suitable for those holsters for the G17?......Obviously I'm looking at holsters with open bottoms for the added slide/barrel length, but want to be sure before I order something on-line.  I guess what I'm tying to ask is will a holster for a G17 fit the G34?   Thanks!

The 17 and 34 use the same frame. The holster I use most fits my 26,19,17 and 34.

Thanks for the reply.  I was not aware that even the sub-compact G26 shares a common frame with the G34.  This will really open up the holster choices.

I was referring to the 17 and 34 using the same frame. The 26 does not use the same frame.

Depends on the holster.. If you shot a good amount of ammo and then holstered a 34 in a short holster it could burn you..

Duty holster wise, you have to open the front up a bit. I've done this on safarilands and blade techs

the frame isn't the same, but their shape around the area that the holster grips is identical.  this is why holsters such as the galco king tuck work with all 9mm, .40, and .357sig glocks, regardless of full, compact, or sub-compact size.

i have 1 kingtuk, that i carry 17, 22, 23, 27 in.  my 24 fits but i don't carry that one.

for outside the waist  i use a blackhawk serpa holster just get the glock 17,22 model you can get one for the 26,27 but the gun will not cover the whole slide due to it is a shorter holster frame so the 17,22 will work good for you...as for inside the waist i use a crossbreed holster

The Glock Sport holster for a whopping 12 bucks is hard to beat for range use. I have even tried it for concealed carry and it will work, but that isn't something I do often unless I'm on my way to the range. Of course a longer than normal (for me) cover garment is required. Not sure what type of carry options you are looking for, but the Glock holster accomodates a lot of Glocks to a "T".
