My 1911 is too expensive to keep shooting. I wanted to possibly get a G17 and use a CCF frame with a 1911 frame on it for cheaper practice and high capacity.  Anyway, just wondering if any of you have any experience with one of these. Also, anyone know where to get a beat to hell G17 for cheap?

I can't help you on the CCF frames, but a police trade-in is your best bang for the buck on a used Glock. For example, my local cop shop has G22s and G23s for $299 with 3 mags, or G35s for $329.

Also, I had previously looked at getting one and ended up talking with the president of the company. He said definitely not to use any Lone Wolf Distributing barrels or slides with CCF frames.

Yeah if they had a 34 and a 19 I'd get one of each.

thanks for the info, guys.  As to not useing a LW slide or bbl with a CCF frame, I'm not too concerned about that sort of thing.  I primarily want it for the weight. I do however, like the timberwolf frame as well.  I don't think it'll do much for me though in the way of wanting to add weight. Then again, a fully loaded G22 is pretty hefty (I used to own one).
