Just picked up a Gen 3 19 NIB. I was wondering if their is a certain way I should break in the barrel or is that  just a completely stupid question?

Thanks

Lube it up good and go run about 200 round thru it.. I would also run some of your defense ammo thru it just to make sure everything is good to go..

Glocks are usually good to go right outta the box!

No it's not a stupid question.  I'd put as many rounds through it as possible to gain some trust and experience with it and that's it.

Clean the inside and outside of the barrel and re lube the outside with your choice of gun oil.

Fill up piles of magazines and blast away.

You only need three or four small drops of oil for "lubing up" a Glock.  Just make sure you place one drop at the critical spot where the connector engages the trigger bar.  No oil inside the barrel or firing pin channel.

Congratulations! Here’s what you should do: Clean it, lube it, pack your range bag full of magazines and ammo… then go have some fun! If this is your first Glock you should read the instruction manual that came with it. Pay special attention to the cleaning/lubricating section. The cleaning part is a no-brainer, but be sure to follow the recommended lubrication points outlined in the manual.
