My local FFL has a G19 in RTF2 with the fish gill slide. Would that be close enough, or do you have your heart set on the 17? I know he ships, and I'd be happy to contact him on your behalf Posted Via AR15.Com Mobile whats the price Just checked, he's asking $495. |
| In a round about way, I traded a Yugo SKS for a Gen3 RTF2. I'd been eying this model as my first glock for quite some time and finally had the chance to make it happen. It is my favorite pistol for the range, and has replaced my beloved Makarov as my daily carry piece. I use a Blade-Tech IWB, and I rarely have issues with printing or comfort. It did, however, take some time to get used to the RTF rubbing against my beer fat. Now, it feels like nothing is there. |

For the Love of everything good and right in the world, buy that thing! Alas, I've been looking for a new G19 RTF2 for awhile with no luck. I definitely agree with the statement that the Gen 3 RTF's were the pinnacle of Glock's history. |

They are still making them in gen3, but they do not have the cresent serrations. I had my gun store buddy call the glock rep to confirm. That's awesome. I thought they was done, it's the next Glock I've really had my eye on (well, that or a 21SF, but regardless it's great news!). |

One of my local shops had a G17,G19, and G22 in rtf2 for sale and I was contemplating which one to buy but now they only have the G22.
I was looking for just a 9mm but now see that I can get a 9mm barrel for the G22. Is it better to get the G17 thats dedicated over the G22 if I'm lookin for just a 9mm? Or will the G22 be just as good all around but have 2 options. This will be my first handgun. Thanks. |

Thanks. for any first handgun i'd advise test firing before buying that said, DONT just assume that b/c this thread says the gen 3 RTF2 is the "best" (which, imo, i do actually agree w/), that you should base all your purchase info on it imo, you cant go wrong w/ this call while i'm a stickler for having "dedicated" calibers, esp when it deviates from .357sig/.40sw, you may be able to get away w/ getting a G22 and getting a 9mm conversion bbl IF you get a good bbl; that said, i'm more warrry of conversion anythings for carry/duty, i stick to stock good luck |

You'll have to drop $100 for a spare barrel, plus a 9mm extractor, and 9mm magazines. Its actually cheaper to just get the 9mm in the first place. While RTF2 is awesome, a normal Gen3 G17/G19 is still a solid choice. |

Thanks for the replys. I hear what your saying I just didn't want to miss out on the purchase since they are getting harder to find. I was thinking of the rtf2 because I liked the looks with the gills. I know it's function and not looks but if I can get both then win win. It will be for range/home defense only. Thanks again. |
