I have a 1983 era G19 from waaaay back in the day.
I have had grip reductions done on the all the glocks i own (hate the hump) cept the 19. Will i be destroying any collector value this gun holds if i have the grip reduced?
Thanks in advance!

It would be priceless considering that the Glock 19 wasn't built unitl 1988.

What's the SN, and do you have pics?

OK so 88, been a long time ago. Is it worth anything or can I whittle it down?

Don't touch it!

post a pic please!
If it's the smooth style Gen 1 frame, it's very valuable.
Gen1 19's are extremely rare.

1988 was when the Gen1 19 was introduced.
Serial # start with "AN"?

If it's a real Gen 1 19, you could have one exceptionally rare gun that could be worth thousands.

There are only 20 or so GenI G19's in the country.  In excellent condition, it would easily fetch thousands to the right collector.  Whittling on it would be like taking a WWII Remington Rand 1911 and sending it out to be chrome plated.  It's sacrilege.  Your call though.

My serial # is BV6.. and it dosnt have the smooth grip,  So I'm assuming it aint worth thosands.
Does it hold any value other than a regular old 19?

A Serial number starting with BV6 would indicate a Nov '88 gun and probably a gen2 frame. That being the case, there is nothing all that special about it so go ahead and do what you want with it.

Anyone know how hard it would be to cut a first gen g17 down to a 19 sized frame?

Not original but would be really cool .
