Can someone recommend a high-quality OWB holster for a G19?

I'm currently looking at the Crossbreed SnapSlide and I would like some feedback on it if anyone has used it.

Thanks.

I have no experience with that holster.

For an OWB holster, I really like the Comp-tac belt holster or the paddle version of it. I like the Raven Concealment Phantom a lot, very close to the body concealed. And I like the Alessi CQC and CQC-S, leather is comfortable and these are very close to the body concealed as well.

I am a fan of the Comp-tac adjustable cant belt holster.

It is well made, can be changed to a paddle if needed, solidly built, good tension retention and fairly economical compared to others.

there's some nice thin Kydex holsters out there for around $75.

or you can spend $15 and get a Glock sport combat holster that does the same thing.
it's made by Glock so you know it's quality

I'm assuming that you want a holster to hug up tight to your side for good concealment, right?

Talon Tactical Costs less than 75, and you don't have to wait a year to get your holster like some other companies. I've got 8 of them. Not sure how many mag pouches

I carry my 23 (same size as your 19) in a BlackHawk.  Sturdy and works really well.

The glock sport combat holster works surprisingly well. It holds the weapon higher but just as close to the body as my $70 comp tac IWB.

It has become my primary carry.

Safariland 5187. Comes as a high ride belt loop but It can be put on a number of platforms: paddle, high ride belt loop, low ride belt loop (my favorite for USPSA), Drop and off set mounts, and thigh rigs. And it won't brake the bank either. It also comes in more than one color and more than one finish of black.

I use tan Galco Combat Master holsters for my 1911s and Glocks, no complaints.

Myself and thousands of others that carry Glocks here use the Serpas. Other than being a little bulky, they hold up pretty well and you're hard pressed to beat them for the money.

Let me tell yah, I decided to go OWB only a few months ago, and I have gone through quite a few OWB holster styles. The best one I have found for Glock, as far as concealment and price, is the Galco Matrix. Minimum bulk, easy on and off, pulls the weapon in tight, only cost $25 per copy. Of the 10 or so diffrent styles/Brands I have tried, I like the Galco Matrix M7X the best.

Plus Mike Benedict is a great guy.

Glad to read this - I was looking long and hard at that setup. Been using an IWB with a 19, but I just got a 26 and it looks like OWB concealability should be similar with a high ride holster.

You assume correctly.

The Galco Matrx holsters are very affordable and very low profile.  Stay away from leather as it absorbs sweat, stretches, and is inferior to kydex.

I have been extremely satisfied with my X-Concealment holster (and mag carrier). It is a Kydex holster, but with built in belt loops. Great retention.
I shopped around for a LONG TIME and this is the one I thought was the best. Worth the money as it's well made, looks great too and not like it was whipped up in a garage press.

As with strippers and Priuses, YMMV.

I've had my eye on those, but have held off.
I will be picking one up tomorrow.

There's a company called Rule Of Concealment and they were recommended to me by Wes over at MSTN. I just ordered a holster from them for a new G34 I have coming my way and and heard some good things about them so far. Pretty much similar to Raven Concealment but w/out the 4-5 month lead time..

Just got home, went to a couple shops and called every shop in hampton roads and nobody had the glock holster.

Just wanted to add this for you. The holster info says it fits a 1.5 inch belt. However, I have been wearing it on a 1.75 inch 5.11 nylon/velcro belt, and it works fine. Honestly, It seems to pull into the body better and hold tighter on the 1.75 inch belt. Just a bit of user experience FYI.

Thanks.
The weapon doesn't feel 'floppy' with the weight up above the beltline?

With the 1.75 inch belt there is no "flop" at all. I havent tried it with a 1.50 inch belt.

I just caught this thread...

I've also tried the M7X holster for the 26/19/17 and can't recommend it.  I'd hoped to use it with a G26 but found the Matrix holster was quite uncomfortable and when worn drawing my 26 was nearly impossible without a very strong jerk to withdraw the weapon from the holster.  I used a dremel on the trigger guard area of the Matrix and managed to relieve enough of the 'hump' in the kydex to make drawing the weapon a bit easier when the holster was off but when the holster was worn it pulls close to the body and still caused much difficulty drawing...

Ofcourse kydex doesn't 'break-in' and with my waist measuring 29" the kydex simply couldn't follow my waistline, it seems to be designed for someone with a much larger waist as the kydex doesn't flex...

I ended up tossing it in the trash...

ETA:  Agree with the above.

For OWB carry, I found the wider gun belts work better since there is more belt surface area snugging the holster up.  Only gun belt I had was a Galco 1.25" - looks like any other dress belt - and it works fine for the most part.  But moving to a wider belt makes a big difference on a high ride style holster.  Not so much on something like the Supertuck, in my opinion, but more of a difference in stability carrying high and outside.
The Glock holster works great with my 19 and my 26 for OWB carry.
