I have a gen 2 model 23. It's been a great piece. Recently got an aftermarket barrel. Question I have that I didn't find answered in the "info" thread is: what will Glock warranty repair do for my weapon? I saw there is a trigger and spring mod. Are these covered by warranty? Any thing else I should know about? I guess a call to Glock is in order? Thanks in advance.
GM15 ETA: There is nothing wrong with my pistol at this time. I was concerned about any recall or improvement that Glock warranty would cover. I'm cheap! |

the best way to get glock service is to join the gssf and attend shooting matches sponsored by them- they have a glock armorer on site and you can walk up with your gun and they will inspect and do any upgrades for free on the spot.
by the way I've been shooting glocks for a round 20 years and aftermarket anything is a a waste of time and money. people will insist you need an aftermarket barrel to shoot plain lead bullets- or you can simply swab the bore every 100 rounds to clean it and that gets the job done too! |

Thanks GlockReaper and Captain127;
I appreciate the reply's. I will make a call to Glock and talk with them. I bought the after market barrel on advice that if one reloads for the Glock, especially the .40 that you need a fully supported barrel. Its a done deal any way. I will into check into glock shooting events, however I live in the sticks in West Texas. Distance is a considerable factor out here if you know what I mean. Thanks again. GM15 |
| You can reload .40 rounds shot out of a factory Glock barrel just fine. The brass just doesn't last as long as .40 rounds that are shot through a barrel with a fully supported chamber. You always get that small bulge at the base where the Glock feed ramp extends into the chamber. |
| no semi auto based on its design can really have a fully supported chamber some offer more or less but notihng is fully supported. Ihave never seen the need to use after market barrels, mine have even eaten plain lead bullet reloads no problem. (just keep an eye on leadingand brush it out every 100-200 rounds) I can't say the same about people running aftermarket barrels- seen any number of them choke on reloads- ammo that ran fine in the stock barrel. |
