Im wanting to put plus 2 extensions on a couple of my glock 19 mags, do i need to use a 17 mag spring? Also when youre taking the mag apart if you you push the pin down and it flips over to one side what is the best way to straighten it out, i cant get the floor plate to slide off. Thanks

I don't want to suggest getting a wild hair up your ass, but you could just use 17 round mags.  I'm assuming you don't want to spend the money on a whole new mag.  There are a lot of options for extensions.  They use the stock spring (g19 mag spring).  Here is a video that will explain pretty much everything you are asking about.

You could get G17 mags with +2 extensions, then you'd have 19rds.

Once you push the lock plate into the magazine you need to squeeze on both sides of the mag body close to the floorplate while sliding it off.

Maybe, but not necessarily.  You can buy them and try them out with the factory G19 mag spring and see if you have any issues.  If they run, great.  If not, look into some other springs.

FWIW, the basepads you linked look like the ones CDNN used to give away for free when you ordered any Glock mags.  There was a reason they were free - they were crap.  I found if you loaded the mag full and slammed them in the gun, the basepad would sometimes break off, spewing spring, follower, and ammo onto the floor.

I've had good luck using Pierce grip extensions.  In the G27 and G29, I've used the +1 (gives +2 in 9mm, I think) and used the same spring with no problems.

Good catch on the no-go magplates.  I wasn't trying to endorse something that was a poor product.  There are some that I do like, it's a company starting with an A.  Adrianonons or something.  I took them off because they didn't fit well in the mag pouches I was using (DB tactical 9/40 dbl stack mag shingle).

I switched the extended floor plate from a 33 rounder to a 15 round mag, i put the stock spring back in it and it feels like it still has tension even unloaded so i think it will be g2g. Ill have to wait to run a few rounds through it to make sure. Thanks for all the help.

A glock armorer told me that the standard spring was okay to use as long as it stuck out of the mag 1" with the base removed.

Arrendondo makes some good stuff, but for the added bulk you'd be better off just using a G17 mag.

I use Arredondos for 3 gun....they have all been flawless thru thousands of rounds between my 9 & 40
Used, abused, dropped on the dirt and rocks, slammed home on closed and open bolts....they haven't given me one lick of a problem and I don't even baby them or go overboard on cleaning them

ETA...forgot to mention that they also make a shorter one that is a plus 4 in 9mm...it is about the same length as the factory Glock +2's...I have one of those and it has also been flawless
